A Special Election is any election that is not regularly scheduled. A special election may be held for any purpose authorized or required by law; often to fill a vacancy or for a public measure.

Absentee Voting
Absentee ballots will be available starting August 24, 2022 for the September 13, 2022 Special Election.
In-person absentee voting will begin on August 24, 2022 and end on September 12, 2022.
Voters that want an absentee ballot mailed to them must submit a written absentee ballot request by August 29, 2022 by 5 p.m. to the Wapello County Auditor’s Office.
The deadline to return a voted absentee ballot is Election Day by 8:00 pm in the Wapello County Auditor’s Office. Postmarks don't count.
